Welcome
I’m Christy Knutson
Healthcare Strategist. Founder. Mom of three.
I help people build
what's missing. And
hold what's hardest.
At the center of my work is Near, a psychosocial support platform for serious illness through the end of life. It’s a response to the gaps I’ve witnessed in how we care for each other, for ourselves, and for what matters most when everything is uncertain.
I’m a healthcare communications strategist, an end-of-life educator, and a writer finding my way back to the discipline that first taught me to listen: journalism.
My work bridges story, systems, and human need – always with the hope of making hard things a little easier.
I hold a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, and a Master of Health Care Innovation from the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine.
“Joy and sorrow are the parents of our spiritual growth.“
On a Personal Note
I’m just a human trying to reimagine how we care for one another through the end of life. Like many of you, I have lost someone I cannot live without – and I channel that love and longing into this work.
I’m a mom of three, Enneagram 3w4, and choose my cats over most social events. I live in Raleigh, North Carolina, where I spend as much time as I can near the ocean, needlepointing, and learning to ask better questions.
This site is a place to gather the threads -professional, personal, and in progress.
Thanks for being here.

“I remembered that the world was wide, and that a varied field of hopes and fears, of sensations and excitements, awaited those who had courage to go forth into its expanse, to seek real knowledge of life amidst its perils.”
